Can a removed Reddit post still show on Google?
Yes, until Google reads the thread again. Anyone can ask Google to refresh the result with its Refresh Outdated Content tool once the post is gone.

Yes. Google builds each search result from the page as it was the last time Google read it. After a post is removed from Reddit, the result can keep the post’s old title and the snippet of text under it until Google reads the thread again. Google’s help page on outdated content says that in this case “the page description or cache might be outdated.”
You can ask Google to update the result yourself with its Refresh Outdated Content tool. You do not need to own the page: Google says the tool is for people who do not own it. Sign in with a Google account, paste the thread’s address and submit. Copy the address from the search result itself (right-click the link and copy the link address), not from your browser bar. If the page still exists, Google asks for one or two words that were in the old snippet but are no longer on the live page. You check the request’s status in the same tool.
The tool has two limits that matter on Reddit. First, it only changes Google’s result; it removes nothing from Reddit. Second, Google’s instructions for the tool say it is not for a page that still exists with the information still on it. In our Reddit work, a removal has sometimes left the thread’s title and its comments on the page. If the title names your business, or the comments repeat the claim, the thread page still exists with those words on it, so Google can keep listing it and a refresh request for those words fails. The comments then have to be reported to Reddit as items of their own.
Google also says the same content can appear under several addresses, and each one needs its own request. A Reddit thread can be reached through the thread’s link and through a link to one comment in it, so submit a request for every address that still shows in search.
We file the Reddit posts and comments you choose with Reddit under its own rules, and Reddit decides each one. Reddit is about 3.5% of the items we have removed, mostly posts and some comments (TrustReviews data, October 2026). Send us the link to each comment as well as the post. When one comes down, we email you its before-removal screenshot, and you can then submit the refresh request.
