Remove a Reddit post about your business
Reddit removes a post or comment when it breaks the Reddit Rules or the subreddit’s own rules. We file the posts and comments you choose with Reddit, Reddit decides each one, and you pay for the ones that come down.

Why one bad Reddit post matters.
A Reddit thread about your business can appear when people search for your name. Google shows a “Discussions and forums” box in some results, and an Ahrefs study of 145 million US Google results (August 2026) found Reddit in 87.8% of the results that showed that box.
AI answers read Reddit too. Since February 2024, Google has had access to Reddit’s Data API to display and train on Reddit content. A Semrush study of over 100 million AI citations (July to October 2025) found Reddit among the five most-cited sites in ChatGPT, Google’s AI Mode and Perplexity. A thread that names your business can become part of the answer someone gets when they ask about you.
Reddit is the second platform in our work after Google: about 3.5% of the items we have removed, mostly posts and some comments (TrustReviews data, October 2026). In our cases the posts sit in city subreddits and in hobby communities about the business’s trade, and one complaint can spread as comments across several communities.
What we file under Reddit’s own rules.
Reddit removes Reddit posts that break these rules. A Reddit post that breaks none of them usually stays up.
Personal information
Rule 3 bans revealing someone’s personal or confidential information to start harassment. That covers an owner’s home address, a personal phone number, and links to or legible screenshots of someone’s personal Facebook page. Reddit’s help page says professional contact details for a public figure, such as a company CEO, can be an exception.
Harassment
Rule 1 bans targeted, severe or patterned abuse of a person, including encouraging others to join in. Reddit’s own examples include directing others to pile negative comments onto someone and creating an account to abuse one person. A post that tells readers to go confront a named employee can break it.
Impersonation
Rule 5 bans pretending to be a person or organization to mislead others. Reddit’s examples include using a business’s name to offer deals without authorization and a username almost identical to another account’s. Using your business’s name to discuss its products, services or practices is not impersonation.
Fabricated content
Reddit’s Manipulated Content and Misleading Behavior policy bans altered or fabricated content presented to mislead, or falsely attributed to a person or organization to cause harm. Reddit’s examples include forged government records. A doctored inspection report or a fake screenshot of a message from the owner is the kind of post it covers.
Spam and vote manipulation
Rule 2 bans spam and content manipulation. Reddit’s Disrupting Communities policy names voting with several accounts, coordinated voting on one post, and new accounts made to evade a ban. Its Spam policy covers mass-posting repetitive content.
Subreddit rules
Every subreddit has its own rules, set and enforced by its volunteer moderators, on top of the sitewide Reddit Rules. A post that breaks no sitewide rule can still break a community rule. Moderators can remove a post from their community, but Reddit says they cannot delete it from the site.
What stays up, and what we do not do
We file the Reddit posts and comments you choose, and Reddit decides each one. Reddit’s harassment policy says it does not shield organizations from criticism, even harsh criticism, and a customer’s own story of a bad experience is allowed when it does not direct others to act. Those posts usually stay up. A removal can leave the post’s title and its comments visible, and the poster can appeal a removal by Reddit within six months. If a post we removed comes back, we file it again at no charge. We do not contact the poster, ask Reddit who they are or post on Reddit for you. We do not use methods that break Reddit’s rules, because removals won that way get reversed later.
How to report Reddit posts yourself.
Anyone can report a Reddit post or comment; you do not have to be the person it names. Subreddit moderators, who are unpaid volunteers, handle reports under their community’s rules. Reddit admins, who are Reddit employees, enforce the sitewide Reddit Rules.
- 1Read the Reddit Rules and the subreddit’s own rules, which the community lists in its sidebar. Choose the one rule the post breaks.
- 2On the post or comment, open the overflow menu, select Report and choose the reason that matches the rule (Reddit’s steps). Each subreddit rule has its own report reason, so a community rule is reported the same way.
- 3For a post that shares someone’s personal information, or for vote manipulation or ban evasion, use Reddit’s report form. Reddit’s help pages on personal information and disrupting communities send those reports there.
- 4Report a post once, under the right rule. Reddit’s Disrupting Communities policy treats a high volume of reports against content that breaks no rule as abuse of its reporting tools.
- 5If a post uses your photos or other work you own, Reddit’s copyright overview links its takedown form. Reddit removes content for a valid notice and tells the poster it received one.
- 6If you believe a post breaks the law where you are, for example a false statement of fact, Reddit also takes legal requests from private parties. Reddit says that when such content breaks no Reddit Rule but appears to break local law, it may restrict access to it in that country, tells the poster, and usually publishes the request in the Lumen Database. This is general information, not legal advice.
- 7When the post is gone from Reddit but Google still shows its old title or snippet, use Google’s Refresh Outdated Content tool: enter the thread’s URL, submit, and check the request’s status in the same tool. If the thread page still shows a title or comments, Google can keep listing it, because the page still exists.

How Reddit removal works, step by step.
Paste the link to each Reddit post or comment in the chat. We work from the links you send; we do not watch Reddit for new posts.
Your account manager confirms the price and the terms for each post or comment with you before anything is filed. You pay for the ones that come down.
We keep a screenshot of each post or comment before work starts. Our filing team files each one with Reddit under its own rules, and Reddit decides.
A person checks every removal before we count it. We email you when one comes down, with its before-removal screenshot. If a removed post comes back, we file it again at no charge.
We file all your bad reviews.
You pay for the ones that come down. On Google, you see the price and accept the terms in the app before anything is filed. For other sites, your account manager agrees the price with you first. No one can guarantee every review comes down, because the platform makes the final decision on each one.
Reddit removal, an example.
A post in the city subreddit named the owner, gave his home street and claimed the shop had been shut down for fraud. The thread came up on the first page of Google for the shop’s name.
The shop had never been shut down. We filed the post with Reddit for sharing personal information, and Reddit removed it.
Real Google reviews we’ve had removed.
Each one now reads “This review is no longer available.” Business names are blurred for privacy.

What every client gets.
Every review tracked
The TrustOS portal shows each review as Waiting to be sent, Being worked on, Removed, Could not be removed, or Stopped.
An email before any charge
Before we charge for a removal, we email you the review and the amount. If something looks wrong, reply to that email.
Refiled if it comes back
A platform can restore a review it removed. If that happens, we file it again at no charge, and we never bill you twice for the same review.
Daily monitoring
We read every Google profile you connect about once a day. One email lists the new 1 and 2 star reviews across all your profiles. It comes with your first removal.
A named account manager
One person looks after your account and answers your emails and texts, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm ET.
A planning call for 10 or more
If you have 10 or more bad reviews, the app offers a free 15-minute planning call with your account manager.

Questions about removing Reddit posts
Who removes a Reddit post, the moderators or Reddit?
Both, under different rules. Subreddit moderators are unpaid volunteers who enforce their community’s own rules; they can remove a post from their community but cannot delete it from Reddit or ban an account from the whole site. Reddit admins are Reddit employees who enforce the sitewide Reddit Rules, remove content from the platform and suspend accounts.
Is a negative Reddit post about my business harassment?
Usually not. Reddit’s harassment policy protects people from targeted abuse and says it does not shield organizations from criticism, even harsh criticism. A customer’s own story of a bad experience is allowed when it does not direct others to act against someone. A post breaks the rule when it tells readers to pile on, threatens someone, or keeps targeting a named owner or employee.
Does reporting a Reddit post many times help?
No. Reddit’s Disrupting Communities policy bans sending a high volume of reports against content that breaks no rule, and asking others to do it. Moderators can also turn on Hidden reports, which moves low-quality reports and reports from non-members out of their main queue. One report under the rule the post breaks is the better route.
Can Reddit remove a post for defamation?
None of the 8 Reddit Rules names defamation, so a false claim about a business is usually a legal request rather than a rule report. Reddit says that when content breaks no Reddit Rule but appears to break local law, it may restrict access to it in that country rather than remove it everywhere, and it tells the poster. A fabricated document or fake screenshot can break Reddit’s Manipulated Content policy. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can a removed Reddit post come back?
Yes. When Reddit removes content under its rules, it tells the poster the reason and lets them appeal within six months, and Reddit reverses a decision it finds was wrong. A removal can also leave the post’s title and comments visible. If a post we removed comes back, we file it again at no charge, and you are never billed twice for the same post.
What if nothing comes down?
You pay for the ones that come down. The platform decides on each review, and a review it keeps up shows as Could not be removed in your TrustOS portal.
