Can you remove negative Indeed reviews?
Yes, when a review breaks Indeed’s company review guidelines. Honest reviews from real staff usually stay up, and Indeed may redact one instead.

Yes, when the review breaks Indeed’s company review guidelines. Indeed’s Managing Company Reviews page says reviews are not removed unless they break those guidelines, and only the reviewer can delete their own post. The employer cannot delete a review, and neither can we. Indeed’s team reads each report and decides. An honest review from a real employee about pay, hours or management usually stays up (what cannot be removed).
Indeed allows one review or answer per person, per company, and only from people who work or have worked there. Under “What is not allowed” the guidelines list threatening, abusive, libelous or defamatory statements, discriminatory slurs, suggestions for actions against the company, personal details about someone outside their role, and factual claims about the company in place of the reviewer’s own experience. A separate rule, “Not a place to report misconduct”, covers reviews that report crimes, claim illegal activity or share internal company details.
Indeed does not ask reviewers for their name, but it does ask for a job title, job status and location (Adding and Deleting Company Reviews). If the job title or location on a review matches no role or site your company has had, say so in the report. That is evidence the reviewer never worked for you. The same guidelines apply to answers on your Q&A tab, and some of the Indeed items removed for our clients were Q&A answers, not reviews.
Indeed can also redact a review: the text comes down and the star rating stays in your average. We do not count a redaction as a removal. Indeed’s guidelines also say it does not update the person who reported a review on the outcome, so a person checks your Company Page before we count a review as removed.
To start, send the links to the Indeed reviews in the chat. Your account manager confirms the price and the terms with you before anything is filed. Our filing team files each review with Indeed under the guideline it breaks. We file all your bad reviews. You pay for the ones that come down. We never contact the reviewer (why not), and if a removed review comes back, we file it again at no charge.
Glassdoor merged into Indeed on 1 July 2026, but the two sites still show separate reviews. A report on Indeed does nothing to the same person’s review on Glassdoor (Glassdoor review removal). The full Indeed rules and reporting steps are on our Indeed review removal page.
