How does Google review monitoring work?
We read each Google Business Profile you connect about once a day and send one email a day that lists the new 1 and 2 star reviews.
- You see the price first
- No subscription
Review monitoring is a daily read of each Google Business Profile you connect in the TrustOS portal. We read a profile again once its last read is more than 24 hours old, so each one is read about once a day. A profile you add is read straight away. Monitoring covers Google only. It comes with your first removal, and you can connect as many profiles as you have.
The first read of a profile is the starting point. Reviews already on the profile are not sent to you as new; they show in the portal, where you choose which ones to file. After that, each new 1 or 2 star review goes into one review alert email a day that covers all your profiles. The alert says what happens next for each review, for example that the Review Auto-filer is already filing it. Your account manager is told about each new 1 or 2 star review at the same time.
Monitoring files nothing by itself. Reply “yes” to an alert and your account manager confirms the price with you before anything is filed. We file all your bad reviews, and you pay for the ones that come down. To have new reviews of 2 stars or below filed without a reply each time, turn on the Review Auto-filer.
Google sends its own alerts too. Its Manage your notifications page lists “Alerts when customers leave new reviews or add photos”, sent by email, in Search or in Maps. Those alerts are about any new review or photo on a profile you manage. Our review alert lists only new 1 and 2 star reviews, puts every profile you connect into one email, and lets you act on a review by replying to the email.
Bad reviews are a small share of most profiles. Across 306,017 reviews on 1,106 Google profiles we monitor (TrustReviews data, October 2026), 5.6% were one-star, about 1 in 18. The median profile had 121 reviews, 5 of them one-star, and owners had replied to 45% of one-star reviews. These profiles belong to businesses that came to a removal company, so they are not a random sample of Google. More figures are in our Google review data study.
Newer reviews are easier to get removed than old ones, so the alert lets you decide about a review while it is new. For a review you leave up, see how to respond to negative reviews. The review monitoring page covers setup and turning the alerts off.
